Everyone wants to be special, let’s face it. We nurture the feeling of having something inside which is unique and unrepeatable. It is not a feeling, we are special, we are precious. We are unique because there is no one like us in the world, we are a multi-faceted, colorful, unexplained mixture of somatic traits, desires, fears, dreams, certainties and uncertainties, experiences, successes and failures that make us unique. We often forget that, but it’s all within us, we should love ourselves every day as special beings, because we deserve all our love, our understanding and our most good-natured (self)irony.

Even more exciting is the feeling of being special for someone. It is a feeling that warms you from the inside, which starts from the mouth of your stomach and rises up to beam into a smile that is hard to quench. We realize to be special for someone from small gestures full of love and care, which could almost be misunderstood as routine in any given day but all of a sudden they make you feel… well, yes, you know, special.

When you find someone to catch you when you arrive to the airport or train station, not with a bunch of twenty-four red roses, but with a little bag with your favorite brioche and a smile that can not contain itself, you feel special. Your favorite song that starts at the right time and you feel special. A sweet breakfast in bed on Sunday, and you feel special. That look, and you feel special. Who has not experienced at least once that thrill that made you feel unique, inexplicably and wonderfully unique?

Breakfast in bed is the perfect example of how we can feel special and loved every day, not just on Sundays, not only if there is someone who brings you your coffee neatly arranged on a tray with cups, yogurt and cereals. You must love yourself and reward yourself for what you are, in a day like any other that can become immediately different just because we chose to start it with a bit of sweetness and attention.

The Sunday breakfast in bed can turn every day of the week into a different day: just imagine one yogurt made with 100% Tuscan milk and a joyful cascade of home-made granola, crunchy cereals glossed with honey and enriched with nuts, dried strawberries and coconut shaves.

Believe me, the world can wait five more minutes, you can enjoy a special moment sinking the spoon in a creamy yogurt, while the crunchy granola adds colour and flavour and the coconut makes you feel on holidays, in a huge bed with white linen sheets and the sea that paints the landscape with a Mediterranean blue.
